Developing a Unique Selling Proposition (USP) for your blog is as important as developing one for your services. Sometimes this is the same. For instance, if your blog is your home on the web (as Connie Green puts it)then the USP is the same for your services. However, if your blog is based on a hobby or an extension of your services (or for some other purpose) then your USP is different.
In any case, every blog should answer these two questions:
1. Why do people visit you?
2. If they aren’t visiting you now, why should they?
A blog should have some kind of sustainable advantage for the visitor. This is what sets it apart from the competition or makes it unique. In today’s busy internet environment where blogs rule, you must create extra value and give people an additional reason to visit you.
Be sure to your USP speaks directly to your niche and that it tells the benefit of why you are the best choice for them (which translates into why they should visit you more often).
